Our intense interest in 'period' designs and Katherine's
background in art history have lead to the research and recreation of many historic styles
of floral designs.
Katherine Bergman is the designer of "Christmas
at Dunsmuir House," an authentic turn-of-the-century Christmas event at the historic
museum. In creating authentic period designs Katherine incorporates unusual floral
materials. She searches for many of the old-fashioned varieties including Damask and
English roses and antique violets for use in her authentic 'period' pieces.
